Better Ways to Go
Transportation is the greatest source of CO2 from our household activities. The good thing is that we can do a great deal to lower these emissions by the choices we make. Traveling alone in a large SUV produces the most CO2 of all passenger vehicles because they are, quite simply, gas guzzlers. On the other end of the spectrum, bicycles are the most efficient means of transport and the only CO2 emissions are from the rider’s breath. In between those two extremes, there are various forms of public transportation, including buses, trains, and airplanes.

There are a wide variety of options now for electric vehicles, including fully electric, plug-in hybrid, and hybrid models.
You can also find ways to drive less by using public transportation, ride sharing, and planning to do multiple errands on one trip.
Bicycling is great way to get exercise while commuting to work or school, or while running errands.
